What is  Autologous conditioned Plasma

Autologous conditioned plasma, is a concentrated version of blood that is rich with healing and growth factors. this can be injected into the patient’s injured tissue in order to decrease pain and heal certain injuries. autologous Skin Rejuvenation is an innovative skin treatment that has been scientifically proven to refresh tone and tighten the skin by repairing the elasticity, colour and quality of the skin.

Treatment uses your body’s own rejuvenating properties to initiate a local stem cell response, which helps build new collagen, elastin and blood vessels. This process helps to repair and regenerate damaged skin for a healthier and more refreshed appearance with minimal downtime.

It involves taking out a small amount of the patient’s own blood, spinning it at a high speed in a specialized centrifuge, which then concentrates and separates a component of the blood. The highly concentrated proteins are then injected into the injured tendons and muscles. This  releases numerous growth factors which help regenerate tissue to some extent and hence help in the repair of the injured tendon and muscle.

In typical cases, 1-2 injections (rarely more) may be required, separated by 4-6 weeks apart, depending on your injury and response.

How does treatment work?

Our highly trained registered nurses and doctors begin the treatment by taking the patient’s blood and placing it in a specialised centrifuge device. From here, we extract the most nutrient rich properties, then use superficial injections to place these natural substances back into the skin or area of concern. These collected nutrient rich properties release important growth factors, which instruct other cells on what work needs to be done (e.g. form new collagen) and help to treat a wide range of concerns. treatment injection releases a large amount of growth factors at the site of injury by inducing an inflammatory response to initiate healing. This treatment is able to restore tendons and ligamentous proteins as well as making firmer and more resilient cartilage.

Depending on the size of the area, along with the desired results, we recommend three to six treatments at four to six weekly intervals.

For clients treating hair loss, please be aware that the this treatment application is not a “quick fix” and is meant to be used as part of a comprehensive hair rejuvenation program supervised by your GP, specialist or dedicated cosmetic / hair clinic.  Individual patients will progress at different rates depending on their age, general health, baseline condition of your skin and hair and the period since the hair loss first occurred.

Is the treatment painful?

Patients usually tolerate the injection well. However, there can be soreness after the injection due to the induced inflammatory response.

Hair Loss Treatment

It has been proved that the Protein filled Plasma injections are quite effective in treating male and female pattern baldness. The protein present in the plasma when injected in the scalp helps in strengthening the hair follicles.

This therapy for hair loss is a three-step medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.

Iinjections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft.

Most treatment therapy requires three treatments 4–6 weeks apart.

Maintenance treatments are required every 4–6 months.

Skin rejuvenation – The injections even show visible changes with regard to skin tone, texture and colour

Acute Injuries– Doctors opine that the Protein plasma injections show magnificent results in treating acute sports injuries like knee sprains, pulled hamstring muscles, etc.

Tendon Injuries – Chronic tendon problems like tennis elbow, pain in the patellar tendon in the knee, jumper’s knee are few tendon injuries treated with Protein filled injections.

Chronic Wounds

A chronic wound is a wound that does not heal in an orderly set of stages and in a predictable amount of time the way most wounds do; wounds that do not heal within three months are often considered chronic. Chronic wounds seem to be detained in one or more of the phases of wound healing.

Protein filled plasma is a modern treatment strategy with worldwide recognition. Platelets play two important roles in wound healing: hemostasis and initiation of wound healing. After platelet activation and clot formation, GFs are released from α-granules located in the thrombocyte cell membrane. GFs work as biologic mediators to promote cellular activity by binding to specific cell surface receptors resulting in improved healing.

The power of growth factors

Growth factors and stem cells also increase cellular turnover and collagen production, which is the foundation of youthful, glowing and radiant skin.

  • Stimulating collagen formation
  • Forming new blood vessels
  • Reorganising cells and skin tissue

These effects result in an improved skin tone, colour and texture, as well as smoothed lines and a softened appearance of wrinkles. In addition to these benefits, the injected area will also experience an increase in hydration, helping to keep skin soft, healthy and vibrant. These benefits are a direct result of growth factors, which control the body’s wound healing mechanism. When growth factors are stimulated by this treatment, collagen production is boosted, helping to improve the appearance of ageing related skin damage, including wrinkles, scarring and fine lines.
